Standing here today

I stand on bloodie shoulders

Standing here today I stand on the steps of where my ancestor we're carried off boats for purchased.

Standing here today on the screams of children, mothers and husbands being ripped apart from the only ones who loved them.

Standing here today in the spot where whips were lashed across the backs of those who paved the way for us.

We stand here today as a remanent of mass production of slaves misery and pain so we can be free today.

I stand on their shoulders making a clarion call to say Thank You in a bowed position of grace.

I have a right to access equal opportunities and not be held as a victim of the Melanie that once breast fed your children and built this nation.

but none of this could be made possible if they didn't fight for our rights.

Martin Luther King had a dream representing Christ to our heart

with Malcom X carrying the protection of Peter.

Birthing out generation with hearts of a warrior spirit.

We stand bold in our truths knowing that the shoulders we stand on are waiting to lift us up as we call upon them.

We Shall Live Victoriously
